Apricot Glazed Pork Chops

Cinnamon can help to keep your blood sugar at an even level and is recommended to diabetics for this reason. It is also useful in reducing symptoms of arthritis. Ginger has been used for centuries as a digestive aid and has anti-viral properties as well.

Apricot-Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon chile paste

4 boneless pork chops

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 pinch ground cinnamon

salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/2 cup white wine

1 cup apricot preserves

Instructions

  1. Mix the apricot preserves, Worcestershire sauce and chili paste in a small bowl.
  2. Rinse and pat dry the pork chops. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, cinnamon, and ginger.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Sear the chops for 2 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Place wine in skillet and stir to scrape up any bits. Add apricot preserves mixture. Return chops to the skillet and coat with the sauce on both sides.
  5. Reduce heat to medium low and cook the chops for 8 minutes on each side or until done.
